Closed
By Meher Gandhi
Closed doors
Between souls
Close enough
To be too far.
I’m here.
Look outside the windows
You wished to keep ajar
When the doors were bolted
While you held tight to silence-
Silence that you’ve rented
From a graveyard.
Owe enough to the gone land
And more to the ones gone.
Say it before the silence amplifies
And haunts you in the crowd.
Say it while I can listen,
Before the silence gets too loud.
