Books I Want To Read Tag!

Happy World Book Day!

What a better way to celebrate World Book Day than by doing an ode to our seemingly never-ending TBR lists!

I saw jthbookreviews doing this tag and I just had to do it! It sounds so fun but at the same time, it is a bit…you know…guilty post kind of. I cannot help but marvel at my own TBR list. How long and filled with must-reads it is. But, I hope it is the same with all readers when it comes to the never-ending TBR list! Do let me know if you relate!

Here are the rules:

  • Link back to original tag.
  • Answer the questions with books you want to read but haven’t.
  • Tag people at the end.

Let’s begin with the questions!

  • A Book you feel you need to read because everyone talks about it.

‘The Great Gatsby’ by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It seems like everybody has read this book. So many people attach a reference to it in so many ways in SO MANY sentences. So many ‘so many’ make me want to read it.

  • A book that’s long.

‘The Complete Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes’ by Arthur Conan Doyle. The book is HUGE but that only makes me want to read it and finish it, soon.

  • A book you’ve had on your shelf or TBR for far too long.

‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas. Not only has it been sitting on my shelves for long, it is also a book I want to read as soon as I can because it seems like everybody has read it.

  • A book that is ‘required reading’ (e.g. a school text or popular classic – a book you feel obligated to read.)

I don’t have any such book right now. But, to answer this question, I’d say ‘Persuasion’ by Jane Austen because being a Janeite, I feel obligated to read it!

  • A book that intimidates you.

‘Origin’ by Dan Brown. I am so ready but also not ready to read the crazy ride-like story! I LOVE Dan Brown’s books. They’re so heavy with action and knowledge that they tend to fix their spots on my list of favourites.

  • A book you think may be slow.

‘Mary Barton’ by Elizabeth Gaskell. But, I still want to read the classic.

  • A book you’ve got to be in the right mood for.

‘The Book Thief’ by Markus Zusak. I really want to get to this book but, I need to be in that frame of mind for it.

  • A book you’re not sure you’ll like.

‘The Cruel Prince’ by Holly Black. I know the premise of it but, I’ve heard a variety of reviews, which makes me unsure regarding my liking for it. I still hope to read it someday.

Afterall

Hope is the only thing that binds the TBR lists with us.

So poetic.

Hello to all the readers and writers out here! I am Meher Gandhi. I am a dreamer and a wanderer, dreaming of a world made of words and wandering in a land of my own scribblings. I am constantly scribbling my reveries and all the secrets I unearth while living, sometimes it’s on paper, most of the times, it’s mental notes. WordPress is a great platform to showcase the art of writing be it on the spot or else. I am loving this work of writing blogs, reading your blogs, commenting on them, receiving the likes, comments and valuable suggestions. It is all so fun! I am a teenager who loves to read and write. I am a positive person and so are my scribblings. If you want to connect with me then, head over to the contact page in the “my pages” section! Would you like to join me in for a walk in my land of scribblings? With love, Meher.
