A books that’ll warm your heart, bring a smile to your face, make your fingers tremble with apprehension, make you shed a tear, bring a smile again.
I am so glad that I have read this masterpiece of a book! This book will keep you hooked till the very end. And I mean it, till the end!
‘Ganesha’ by Dr Syd K. is a book that will enlighten you with how the wilds of the wild (especially elephants) feel, express emotions, and survive, in the form of a beautiful story that shall forever remain close to your heart. The book starts with the birth and childhood experiences of ‘Ganesha’- an Afro-Asian elephant who is one of his kind and who is christened by an Englishman. To know how the Englishman and the Afro-Asian elephant crossed paths, you need to read the book!
While the book follows the experiences of the Afro-Asian elephant and his surroundings, it also follows the activities of a deadly poacher who would go to any extent to have his poaching business flourish. With that, the author has also given us backgrounds of other characters who play important roles in the book. You need to dive into this book to know how ‘Ganesha’, his friends (both human and elephants), and how the poachers entwine their stories and how they all affect each other.
This book portrays a beautiful relationship between man and wild. This book is about friendship that knows no boundaries of species or colour. This book is about the essence of a pure bond that is formed due to the abstract willingness of the souls to know each other.
There are so many things that I absolutely love about this book! The beautiful story is very engaging and full of wit and reason. I love how unique the storyline is! I, for sure, hadn’t read a book like this one ever before. Also, the author has made use of good vocabulary. With clean writing and the use of words that absolutely express what they are meant to, this book is a rich read. I also like how the fiction is backed up with behaviour-evidences and other scientific evidences. The plot is intricately designed by giving meaning to each character’s existence in the story. Oh and of course, this book kept me hooked till the very end!
I found very few typos that too, only in the beginning that wouldn’t come in the notice of the reader until she/he reads it too closely.
This is a must-read for all the animal-lovers and nature-enthusiasts. This book will definitely take you to a different world altogether. I highly recommend it to those who are looking for a moving and unique read and to those who would like to see the world through the eyes of elephants!
