You guys showed a lot of love to my ‘Tips For Successful Blogging’ post so I’ve decided to share the top 5 tested and tried tips that I have to offer to anybody and everybody wanting to know how to successfully blog and talk about books!
*NOTE: As I’ve mentioned it already, I have published a tips post for all the bloggers (regardless of the blog subject) out here! The tips I’ve provided in my post called ‘Tips For Successful Blogging‘ are aimed at helping any and all bloggers!
TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL BOOK BLOGGING
- Introduce your bookish likes, dislikes, and opinions…
without the need to sugarcoat them. Firstly, if you’re just starting out, you might want to introduce yourself and let your readers know about your bookish likes, dislikes, and opinions. If you’re already clear about the content you’re going to post, you can even let them know about the stuff they can expect from your blog. One thing to keep in mind is that you do not need to sugarcoat any of your opinions. Present them as they are. This brings us to the next tip.
- Share your honest opinions no matter how unpopular they are.
Is there a really famous book/series/genre which is loved by most of the world but the fact is that you do not like it as much? Well, if it is so then please do not feel the need to let people think that you too, are a part of the bandwagon. Be true to your readers even if your opinions are unpopular. In fact, your readers will admire and even respect you for not hesitating in presenting your honest opinions. Also, your aim should be to provide a true and fair picture of the book or anything bookish you’re talking about, to your readers.
- Reflect your opinion and not others’.
By now, you must have understood that there should be no pressure of pleasing everyone reading your bookish post. Another thing you’ll need to keep in mind is that while you can be inspired by other people’s opinions, you cannot really echo them without giving them the credit. Do not at all try to copy paste anybody else’s views and reviews. Always provide your opinion in your own words. If you want you can always refer to somebody else’s opinion but make sure to provide them due credit.
- Add variety to your book blog.
You might like one genre/book more than you like other genres/books but, if you only talk about that particular genre/book, your blog might be viewed as boring by the readers. You’d rather want to let your readers know that your blog has a lot of variant bookish content. To add variety to your blog, you can publish various kinds of posts (like tags, Q&As, reviews, book rants, etc.) and you can talk about different genres/books and lesser loved or known genres/books.
- Read. Read. Read.
In order to be able to provide near-to-perfect reviews, you’ll want to have an experience in the field of reading. The more you read, the more you can distinguish between an ordinary book and an extraordinary one.
