NOTE: I am grateful to the author for sending me this book. However, this does not at all hinder my honest opinions regarding the book. This is a spoiler-free review. All opinions are solely mine.
The book ‘Obsessed’ by Dhawal Joshi revolves around three best-friends- Rehan Shah, Ruhani Rana, and Tanya Arora. None of them could imagine life without the other two. The three made sure to stick together in times of dire stress and absolute ecstasy.
While Tanya was a chirpy diva, Ruhani was a nerdy girl. Tanya and Ruhani had always been soul-mates, even when Rehan had not yet entered their lives. Rehan was an intelligent and humble guy. He had dreams like any other boy of his age would have. When Rehan first met Tanya and Ruhani, he instantly recognized his feelings for Tanya to be much more than a friend would have. He saw Ruhani as his coolest friend but saw Tanya as his dream girl.
The three never let anyone come in between trying to break their bond. They had a strong connection and were ready to do anything for each others’ well-being.
But, things soon took a turn when all three started identifying their real feelings towards each other and start dwelling on their individual histories. While Rehan wanted to be Tanya’s life partner, Ruhani couldn’t stop dreaming about Rehan.
Things took an even more evil turn when the lives of all three were hit by a shocking incident. To know what exactly happened that shattered them and to know if they could survive it together, you need to read the book!
I cannot describe this great thriller without without giving in too much information about the book which might result in spoiling the book for you.
I couldn’t really predict the ending of the book so that’s a plus point. I really like the plot-built and the character-built. However, it was very disappointing for me to find many grammatical and sentence-structuring errors in the book. If only the book was nicely edited, it could have resulted in being a masterpiece. The many errors were a bit distracting for me in the beginning, but, I gradually shifted my focus on the plot and characters. The errors account for the major stars that I cut from the rating.
The book follows the perspectives of all the three friends. I always like it when a book provides me with the point-of-view of each lead character! More the POVs, more fun it is for me. Also, I like the fact that the emotions of the characters were represented in a great way in the book.
All in all, this book is a nice read. I love the plot twists and I think I would have loved the book even more if only it was nicely edited. I recommend this book to anybody who likes a good mystery and thriller novel every now and then!
