Have you ever read a quote and felt like it was written for you and that it has come your way for a reason? Have you ever come across a quote and instantly felt like it was the best string of words you’ve ever read? Well, I have many times comes across such quotes.

I like quotes that are short and sharp. However, there are many that are long paragraphs which hit where they’re intended to, too. All in all, I like quotes that bring forward the sense of aestheticism and make me feel like they were written for me.

For a writer (here, quoter), quotes are a way of expressing deep feelings without feeling the need to express them through huge books; just keeping the quote short and nice, which is able to hit the mark on the reader. For a reader, quotes are a way to know they are not alone in what they feel and do. Great quotes leave us all craving for more. Don’t they?

So here are a few of the MANY quotes that I have ever come across and have found a connection with- a connection which is deep and absolutely true.

Make sure to let me know about your favourite quotes, too!

  • Expectation is the root of all heartache.”

    ~ William Shakespeare

I find this quote to be absolutely true. It expresses a bitter reality yet it seeks to open our eyes. After reading this quote, I’ve often recalled the various moments when I’ve felt disappointed. I must tell you, 90 per cent of those moments have proved to be the result of my high expectations from others.

  • “I was quiet but I was not blind.”

    ~ Jane Austen

I do not have words to express how much I love this quote.

  • “To thine own self be true.”

    ~ William Shakespeare

You must be honest to all. But, most of all, you must be honest to yourself. There’s no point in betraying you own self.

  • “For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”
    ~ Micah 7:8

Absolutely beautiful. Isn’t it? It gives me courage.

  • “Here I come, ready or not.”

    ~ Rainbow Rowell, Fangirl

This one is so short but, so uplifting. I love it!

  • “If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”

~ J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire

This is so true. Great people aren’t always rich or don’t necessarily posses supremacy but, they’re always kind. Do you agree?

  • ” There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart.”

    ~ Jane Austen

Of course, I had to have more than one Jane Austen quotes! After all, I am an ardent Janeite!

  • “Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.”

    ~ Maya Angelo

This quote is so empowering. We’re all filled with light which cannot be dimmed, ever!
