*NOTE: I am extremely grateful to Fingerprint! Publishing for sending me this book as a review copy. However, this does not at all hinder my honest opinions regarding the book. This is a spoiler-free review. All opinions are solely mine.

I haven’t read many musing collections and this was one of the first. I must say, I am glad to have read this amazing book!

‘Such Is Her Life’ is a big bunch of satirical and ironical statements. It attempts to let the world know how atrociously women all around the globe are treated. This book is a hard knock on the faces of everybody who has ever degraded women and underestimated them. It tells us how the society has refused to consider women as belonging to the human race.

This book addresses a ton of issues. It is for everybody who wishes to get a closer look at the state of women and how they are perceived by our very beloved judge- society. It tells us the sad truth that it is the society and the people around us that take major part in taking decisions regarding the lives of females. It also brings forward the mentality of people according to whom women aren’t exactly meant for professional work and the fact that many women across the globe do not consider themselves safe. Can you even imagine how undermined are their strengths?!

I love how the short and concise sentences have brought forward heavy meanings without the messages being faltered.

Major part of the book does discuss the ‘plight’ of women but, some musings also reflect how strong the female species is. I wish there were more such musings where their strength was highlighted, too!

This book surely deserves a lot of recognition. The play of words and the ways emotions have been brought forward are indeed, commendable. While reading the musings, I’ve felt angry, hopeful, and happy, too. There are some really amazing lines which definitely touched my heart.

Here are two of my favourite musings from the book:

One fine day she stopped explaining.
Period.

“You are rude, audacious, and brazen.”

“The word is confident“, she said.
