A Poem By Ma And Me

My mom and I have written a poem together! You guys have read my poems and you know what my style of writing is. This time, I decided to share with you a poem which my mother and I have written together! I am so excited to know what you guys think of our collective effort!

The stanzas in blue are my mom’s and the ones in black are mine. We’ve written the stanzas alternatingly, the first being mine, next being hers and so on (additional information if the colour isn’t showing up.).

The Golden Canvas

By Prerna and Meher Gandhi

I have been wandering in this forest alone,
Have traversed every puddle, every stone.
All the lights and crowds I’ve seen,
The desert is where I’ve never been.

It seems the path is taken less,
Or is it for the one to assess?
The lonesome stream, the hollow pit,
To make it meaningful, bit by bit.

I think of the golden shore of settled sand,
The holy waves of brown and gold.
The silent airy blow takes me to this land,
To live the stories never been told.

The fierce sun rays set ablaze,
The misty sand to sparkle away.
The mirage gives it to my gaze,
And I seek life out of astray.

I wish to befriend all the hovering vultures,
To never let go of the priceless junctures.
Every season that I would greet,
Would have me gazing at the sand’s and sun’s meet.

Yes, I yearn to traverse the desert land,
The forlorn canvas of the Mighty hand.
Sure it calls for all the celebration.
A plight to unravel the splendid jubilation.

We wrote this poem recently and I was so excited to write with her! She frames her words in a very beautiful manner! Let me know what you think of this poem of ours!

Also, huge thanks for the 600+ followers! I am so so so grateful! Thank you!

Hello to all the readers and writers out here! I am Meher Gandhi. I am a dreamer and a wanderer, dreaming of a world made of words and wandering in a land of my own scribblings. I am constantly scribbling my reveries and all the secrets I unearth while living, sometimes it’s on paper, most of the times, it’s mental notes. WordPress is a great platform to showcase the art of writing be it on the spot or else. I am loving this work of writing blogs, reading your blogs, commenting on them, receiving the likes, comments and valuable suggestions. It is all so fun! I am a teenager who loves to read and write. I am a positive person and so are my scribblings. If you want to connect with me then, head over to the contact page in the “my pages” section! Would you like to join me in for a walk in my land of scribblings? With love, Meher.

  2. The love it reflects. Such sweet gestures. Reminds me of my mother. Although she doesn’t writes she reads what I write and help me to make it look better. This is so gorgeously done. ♥♥ it’s indeed a blessing to read such poetry. Well done. 🙂

  5. That was an amazing combination. Nice to see your mother in your work. You surely got the talent from her. “The lonesome stream, the hollow pit,
To make it meaningful, bit by bit.” are my favorite lines. Well done.
