A Darkened Spectre

A Darkened Spectre

By Meher Gandhi

In a darkened spectre, moonlight sings-
A beautiful song unknown,
High above the obvious beings,
To the world oblivion to both laughs and groans.

The sparkly night,
The stars that flow,
Make up for heavenly light,
To shine and glow.

The snowy sparks of black and white,
The heated cold of the chilly night,
The fallen leaves that rise and fly,
Tell me to never leave and always try.

The windy spirals of glittering ice,
The trees never windblown,
Create a space like paradise,
In the sandy desert unknown.

The frozen roses,
The dew on the leaves,
Shine bright through the dark,
With the light the night weaves.

How could I ever leave this soothing scene?
I wish to forever listen to this breeze.
I wish to breathe in the sweet mist,
Not to leave any rose unkissed.

Hello to all the readers and writers out here! I am Meher Gandhi. I am a dreamer and a wanderer, dreaming of a world made of words and wandering in a land of my own scribblings. I am constantly scribbling my reveries and all the secrets I unearth while living, sometimes it’s on paper, most of the times, it’s mental notes. WordPress is a great platform to showcase the art of writing be it on the spot or else. I am loving this work of writing blogs, reading your blogs, commenting on them, receiving the likes, comments and valuable suggestions. It is all so fun! I am a teenager who loves to read and write. I am a positive person and so are my scribblings. If you want to connect with me then, head over to the contact page in the “my pages” section! Would you like to join me in for a walk in my land of scribblings? With love, Meher.

Honestly the best lines I’ve read today.
This is amazing. The whole vibe is that of the winter season. It’s beautiful.
I also love the winter season, not because of my birthday xD but because of Christmas! 🎅

  3. Nice work Meher. Underneath the winter motif this piece is also about hope and resistance for me. Lines like “never leave and always try” and “frozen roses” touch on resilience and no matter what, which is always beautiful.

    1. Thanks a bunch, Celeste!
Yes, this poem is much more than the beauty of winter…it does have a deeper meaning. It is also about being hopeful and grateful. I am so glad to know that you could get the deeper meaning!
This is probably the reason why I love poetry; every person is able to perceive it in different ways!
